I am crazy about dessert. I can have it in any form, like baked, fried, or others. But it’s good to have baked dessert as it is safer in comparison to the fried varieties. So, if you are addicted to a dessert like me and looking for a healthier option, opt for a baked sweet dish. Here I am going to share recipes of 2 yummy desserts; both of them are baked; one is strawberry shortcake, and another is apple crisp having oats. Let’s start then.

Strawberry Shortcake

Preparation time: 35 minutes

Cooking time: 1 hour


For shortcake

  • All-purpose flour – 3 ½ cups
  • Granulated sugar – ½ cup
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Baking powder – 5 Tsp
  • Beaten eggs – 2
  • Pieces of butter – 1 cup
  • Whipping cream – 2 cups

For Preparing Strawberries

  • Sliced strawberries – 4 cups
  • Granulated sugar – ¼ cup

For Topping

  • Vanilla – 1 Tsp
  • Whipping cream – 2 cups
  • Powdered sugar – 1 ½ cups


  • Take a big bowl and add the salt, baking powder, sugar and flour, and butter pieces. Mix them well.
  • In another bowl, mix the beaten eggs and whipping cream and tip the flour mixture. Mix well till it takes the form soft dough.
  • Heat the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Take an ungreased flat pan and flatten the dough in it.
  • Bake it for about 20 minutes till it becomes golden. Take it out and allow it to cool completely.
  • Mix the strawberries along with granulated sugar in a bowl.
  • Make the topping ready by beating the cream, sugar, and vanilla with a mixer.
  • Now place this topping evenly over the shortcake and add the sugary strawberries on the top.
  • Its taste best when served chilled.

Apple Crisp Having Oats

Time of preparation: 25 minutes

Time of cooking – 95 minutes


For Streusel

  • Plain oats – ¾ cup
  • All-purpose flour – ¾ cup
  • Butter – ½ cup
  • Cinnamon powder – ½ cup
  • Brown sugar – ½ cup

For Filling

  • Peeled and chopped tart apples – 6 medium sized
  • Lemon juice – 1 Tsp
  • Granulated sugar – ½ cup
  • Flour – 2 Tsp
  • Cinnamon powder – ½ tsp

For Serving

Sweet whipped cream or vanilla ice cream


  • Take a big bowl. Add ¾ cup flour, brown sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon powder, oats, and butter. Mix them but do not overdo.
  • Now, in another bowl, mix all the ingredients required for filling.
  • Once the mixture is ready, put them in a baking dish evenly. Add the streusel on the top. Do not forget to spray the baking dish before adding the filling.
  • Heat the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Put in the tray inside the oven and bake it for about 35 minutes so that the upper layer becomes crisp and golden.
  • Once the juices start bubbling at the edge, take the baking dish out. Allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Then serve with either sweet whipped cream or vanilla ice cream according to preference.
