When we think of baking, the first thing that comes to our mind is the microwave. While we can compromise on something or use some other tools in place of one, but, without the proper kitchen appliances, baking is not fun. Whether you are baking a cake or stirring up a batch of cookies, you must need the primary baking tools. In the following, I have listed out some must-have baking tools to help you in the baking process.

Measuring Cups and Spoons

Baking depends vitally on precision. Therefore, you must keep a measuring cup in your kitchen. It would be great if you can buy both dry and wet measuring cups.

Needless to mention the importance of spoons in the kitchen. But in baking, you require different kinds of spoons. Measuring spoon sets come with a tablespoon, teaspoon, half teaspoon, 1/4th teaspoon, while measuring cups come in the sets with one cup, ½ cup, 1/3 cup, and ¼ cup. For liquid measuring cups, you can purchase an I-cup size, but it will be handy to have 2-cup and 4-cup in your cupboard.

Wooden Spoons

Why wooden spoons are great because they are sturdy enough to be used with the thickest or heaviest dough, you need to take care of the washing of wooden spoons to avoid any kind of wear and tear.

Rubber Spatula/Scraper

Silicone scrapers are the best to scrape off anything that remains stuck in the pan. The silicone scrapers are also heat tolerable as compared to the rubber ones.

Metal Turner

Metal turner is useful to transfer fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies to a cooling rack or serve a piece of cake from the pan. Turner with a thin metal blade is easy to use.

Pastry Brush

A pastry brush can be utilized for the greasing of a pan before pouring the cake into it.


Every cake maker can understand the essentiality of a whisk in baking. There is no other tool better than a whisk to mix and stir things together.

Rolling Pins

For rolling out pie crusts, you need to have cookie dough, and pastry puffs, a rolling pin. These are very useful.

Fine-Mesh Sieve

For the addition of a dusting powdered sugar to a finished pan of brownies or cookies, sieves are used.

Baking Pan

You can use other pans for baking, but a rectangular baking pan serves the purpose better. You can also keep a round pan and loaf pan with you.

Pie Plate

In order to bake pies at home, it would be helpful to have a pie plate around.

Wire Rack

A wire rack is best to allow circulation of air around the baked goods so that they taste just as great and fresh at room temperature as they did fresh out of the oven.

Baking Sheet Or Cookie Sheet

This is great for baking any kind of cookie.


Besides the above-mentioned tools, you can also keep some other appliances like a muffin pan, hand mixer, parchment paper, paring knife, etc., in your kitchen to make your baking life easy.
