To prepare the pastry recipe, you will need around 300g of flour, and 70g chilled butter. You need 70g chilled lard and 40ml cold water. You will also need some salt for taste. Take a large bowl and sift the flour along with the salt.
Now add the lard and butter inside it. Dip your fingers inside the cold water and then rub your fingers on your thumb. It helps the mix to become extremely fine. The water needs to be added to the mix.
You can do that slowly. Do so until it becomes into a dough. Make sure the dough does not become sticky. It must be firm and steady. Take few of them and roll into similar balls. It can be slightly difficult for first timers.
But, you will get it eventually rolling few of them. If you have mixed the water properly into the dough, then it will form balls easily. You can either fry or bake it. Depending on your option. For making pastry into a sweet dish, you can add some caster sugar.
