You can’t go wrong with cookies. They are classic, simple, and easy desserts to bake at home. Great for when you need to whip up something in a pinch or if you want to make it from scratch but don’t have much time. With only four ingredients – butter, sugar, an egg, and your choice of flour or baking soda – they can be ready in less than half an hour. Plus, because there’s no cooking involved after the dough is prepared, all you have left to do is bake them off at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.

I am a huge cheesecake fan. The creamy texture, the richness of the flavor, and the fact that it comes in so many varieties make it one of my favorite desserts of all time. It is pretty simple to make, though there are some steps involved. If you have an entire afternoon or evening to dedicate to baking then go for it! If not – which is usually when I attempt making this dessert – you can put everything together at night and bake them off first thing in the morning while enjoying your coffee on your patio or balcony instead of being cooped up inside.

3.Quick Bread:

A favorite among many, quick bread is simple, one-bowl recipes that can be whipped up in a hurry. The best part is that they don’t require any yeast so you don’t have to wait around for them to rise. There are tons of variations you can make – banana, pumpkin, zucchini, etc. – but my personal favorite is chocolate chip. For this recipe, all you need is one cup of flour, one teaspoon of baking powder, half a teaspoon of baking soda, a pinch of salt, one egg, one cup of sugar, and two tablespoons of melted butter or vegetable oil. Combine the wet ingredients first then add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 50 minutes.

4.Fruit Cobbler:

This is one of those recipes that you can make with whatever fruit you have on hand. Just chop them up, mix them together with some sugar and flour, and put them in a baking dish. Top it off with some butter or margarine (or even better, some homemade whipped cream), and you’re good to go. I like to use a variety of fruits – blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc. – but you can use whatever you like or have on hand. For this recipe, I would recommend using about two cups of fruit.

5.Chocolate Cake:

Another one of the classic easy desserts to bake at home is cake. This is another recipe that you can get creative with. For the chocolate cake, you simply need flour, cocoa powder (make sure it is unsweetened), baking soda, salt, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. You can also add chocolate chips if desired or to make it even richer you could substitute coffee for the milk in the recipe.

6.Coffee Cake:

The classic breakfast pastry can be made in less than an hour. Simply mix three cups of flour with one cup of sugar, one teaspoonful of salt, four teaspoons of baking powder, and two egg yolks along with two tablespoons of butter or vegetable oil and enough milk to make a dough. Once it is all mixed up, shape it into any desired form – round, square, etc. – and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top. You can add icing or frosting if you want but I prefer them plain so that I don’t fill up too quickly before lunchtime!
